Minister of Education / Administration

Principal Function:
We believe the Minister of Education/Administration should be called by God, led by the Holy
Spirit, adequately trained, and called of the Lord to guide the ministry of Macedonia Baptist Church.
The Minister of Education/Administration is responsible to the Pastor for the development and promotion
of the educational program of the church and for administering the business and affairs of the church.
Job Classification:
This position is an exempt (Salaried) and a full time position *
Working Relationships:
The Minister of Education/Administration reports directly to the Pastor
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Required: A seminary degree (preferably in Christian Education) *
· Required: 3-5 years of experience as Minister of Education, Business Administrator on a Baptist church staff, a comparable Baptist denomination service position or other comparable business or education experience
· Required: A commitment to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally
· Required: Being highly motivated to share in Christian ministry
· Required: The ability to work with volunteers
· Required: The ability to work cooperatively with other staff members
· Required: An active membership in Macedonia Baptist Church
· Required: The ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form
· Required: Ability to use computer software and assist the church in staying relevant in a technology driven society
· Required: Exceptional speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups
· Required: Quality leadership skills
· Required: Exceptional administrative skills
· Required: Passing criminal, financial, and sexual misconduct background checks
Responsibilities:
· To serve every area of Macedonia Baptist Church with a Servant’s heart and attitude
· Self motivated
· In cooperation with the appropriate church leaders, work to set goals, determine priorities, establish programs and coordinate a calendar which will lead the church to accomplish its mission
· Give leadership and direction to the educational ministry of the church by recruiting and motivating church member participation in the development of the following areas:
o Sunday School
o Discipleship Training
o Wednesday Night Classes
o Weeknight Classes
o New Member Classes
o New Christian Classes
o Leadership Development
· Create, direct, and supervise a church outreach-evangelism program
· Keep abreast of the latest trends, methods, and materials as related to religious education and administration
· Plan and promote fellowships, retreats, seminars and conferences which will enhance the spiritual growth and development of the church
· In cooperation with the Pastor:
o Supervise staff members in pursuit of effective and efficient performance of their duties
o Help in the assimilation and care of members
o Assist in visitation
o Disburse emergency benevolent funds
o Serve as staff advisor for church committees
· In cooperation with the Church Financial Secretary:
o Supervise the maintenance of accurate records for all educational organizations including the church membership roll
o Assist the Finance Committee in the development of the annual budget
o Administer the business and financial affairs of the church pertaining to insurance, taxes, and personnel records
o Supervise the maintenance of complete records pertaining to church properties and finance
o Coordinate the funding of special projects with appropriate church leaders and staff
o Establish and operate an effective plan of financial record keeping and reporting
o Coordinate the church calendar and insure the readiness of church facilities and equipment in accordance with the calendar
· In cooperation with the Building and Grounds Committee:
o Oversee the care, maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, grounds and equipment.
· Comply with all established church policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws *
· Accept other assignments made by the Pastor
